CIDA, ln the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-five, the assignment was given to the Senior Class of Ellet High School to hereby draw up the following proclamation: We, the graduating class of the year of one thousand nine hundred and fifty-five, do hereby wish to put into writing the history of our class at Ellet lunior Senior High School. Within our school was an organization made up of representatives from each grade who helped organize the school activities, Student Council is made up of students and helps the pupils feel that they have a part in running the school. Chuck jones was president in the twelfth grade and vice president in the eleventh Others representing our class in this organization were Chuck Nutter, Pat Miller, Dorthajean Coleman, Dave Whitmer, Pat Linn, Shirley Grant, Dorothy Duff, Iuris Upatnieks, Howard Hamilton, and Ioyce Gordon. Working very hard in their freshman year in the Iunior Bed Cross were Maxine Riggs, Carolyn Hone, Shirley Grant, and Dave Whitmer. Carrying on with representation of our class in this service organization in the following year were Mary Lou Reschke, lim Coburn, Loraine Lewis and Chuck Nutter. Ion Galit, Iirn O'Neill, Ioyce Gordon and Barbara Marshall worked during their third year in high school to make this organization more successful. john Galit was vice president of the group in the tweltth grade and help- ing him from our class were jim Lutes, Ronnie Combs, Grace Hafler and Barbara Montgomery, At the end of our Sophomore year, we were proud owners of red and white class jackets and sweaters, As Iuniors we ordered our rings in the early spring and received them in tirrie to wear them to the Iunior- Senior Prom which was held at the Fairlawn Country Club. The senior banquet, which was held at the May- flower Hotel, was a big success. The theme of the prom when we were seniors was Stairway to the Stars. It was held at Shady Hollow on May 27, l955, As seniors we chose Shirley Grant and Chuck Iones as Most Versatile. Most Popular were Nancy Arnold and Iim O'Neill, and Best Looking were Carolyn Hone and Iohn Cook Dave Whitmer and Loraine Lewis were voted as having the Best Personality We even had some witty people in our class. As the Wittiest the class chose Phyllis Trout and Brian jones. Best Dressed were Chris Vafiades and Al Evans. Ed Rite was voted Most Athletic and Linda Curtis, Most Feminine. The class picked Iuris Upatnieks and Iune Dellapa as Most Likely to Succeed. We had some very brilliant students in our class. Barbara Montgorriery, Ken Cordier, Iuris Upatnieks, Iune Dellapa, Dorothy Duff, Ioyce Farndon, Diana Craig, Mary Lou Reschke, Ioyce Gordon, Marjorie Kennedy, Barbara Marshall, and Karen Ricketts were elected to the National Honor Society. Sports are always a big thing in high school, and we do hereby think we deserve credit for the active part we played in them. lrf our freshman year jrlayrria on the freshman bag- ketball team were Chuck Nutter, bd Mathers, Al Evans, Aaron Lavender, lid Viable, hm Coburn, and Dave Whitmer. Cheering the team on to victory were the freshrr an cheerleaders Mary jane Stalnaker, Virginia Stevenson, Beverly Hoyer, and Dorthajean Coleman. ln the tenth grade, ljd Bite was our only representa- tive to the varsity basketball team, but in the eleventh grade we did' much better, Ld Mathers, Howard Harrirl- ton, Iirn Coburn and lid Rite dribbled flown the court. Making the baskets were Howard Hamilton, Dave Whitmer, Ed Hite, and lid Mather.: during the twelfth year. Ed Bite made the all-city liasketlrall learn in eleventh and twelfth rrrarlea. We had many active girls who played on the Y- Teen basketball team during some ol their years at Ellet. They were Ioyce Gordon, Barbara Marshall, Mary Lou Fteschke, Nancy Cottle, Dorthajean Cole- man, Margie Cook, Doris Cozad, Donna Wrtner, Shirley Grant, Kay Fasrg, Mary lane Stalnaker, Barbara Montgomery and Hose Marie Martin. As far as football goes, we have had a good per- centage of our boys play on the varsity team. Chuck Snowden, Howard Hamilton, Chuck jones, Hugh Fortney, lim Coburn, Hd Bite, Dave Miller, Ed Mathers, Al Evans, Dave Whitmer, Dick Streich, lan Holmes, Ed DeMask, lim Lutes, and Mike Nicolino represented our class throughout high school. The football team elected Mary Lou Reschke Home- coming Queen in '54 and crowning her was Linda Curtis. Attendants in the preceding years were Mary Lou Bissett in the twelfth grade, Nancy Cottle in the eleventh, Marian Longstreth reigned in the tenth, and Mary Lou Heschke in the ninth. As juniors Mary Lou Reschke and Nadeen Deutsch marched in the majorette line. Mary Lou was flag girl in our sophomore year and had the honor of being head majorette in the twelfth grade. As freshmen we elected Pat Miller attendant to the May Queen. As sophomores Loraine Lewis represented our class. When we were juniors Carolyn Hone was elected May Queen of '54, and representing our class as attendant was Carolyn Atkinson. Pat Miller and Dave Whitmer were presented with the well-deserved Manhood and Womanhood awards at the end of their senior year. While in the eighth grade Dorothy Duff and Dave Frase held the Girlhood and Boyhood awards. In the twelfth grade, Nancy Cottle and Ed Bite reigned as Basketball King and Queen. Margie Cook and Howard Harriilton were crowners. Twelfth grade attendant was Christine Vafiades. ln the eleventh grade Ioyce Farndon was the attendant In tenth grade Nancy Arnold represented our class as attendant, and in ninth grade, Carolyn Hone. Dave Whitmer was the class president in our junior year and juris Upatnieks, vice president. Taking notes at the class meetings was secretary Loraine Lewis and class treasurer Phyllis Trout.

of my In the first half of our senior year Dave Frase held the office of president of the Senior Class, while Dave Whitmer was vice president. Iune Dallapct was sec- retary and Shirley Grant and Hugh Fortney, treasurers. Second semester found lim O'Neill president and Ed Rite veep. Ioyce Farndon was class secretary, and Pat Miller handled the financial end of our business transactions. Crowned Hi-Y Queen in '55 was Doris Cozad. The same year, holding honors as Y-Teen King was Chuck Iones. Linda Curtis and Ion Galit were in the Sweetheart Court of '54. The Daisy Mae and Li'l Abner of our class in our senior year were Nancy Arnold and Tom Harless. When we were juniors, Maxine Riggs and Ken Cordier represented Ellet on Iunior Town Meeting of the Air. As seniors another radio program which Ellet had part in was Cue Teen Salutesf' Representing Ellet this time was Howard Hamilton, Loraine Lewis, Diana Craig and Carolyn Hone. In the eleventh grade Iune Dellapa went to Girls' State for a week, and Dave Whitmer was chosen for Boys' State. Pat Miller was on the Iunior TB. Board and Kay Fasig worked with the Peoples Hospital Iunior Board. Al Evans and Ken Cordier were Iunior Rotarians as seniors. Musically talented girls who sang in the Singers group were: Io Havens, Mary lane Stalnaker, Diana Craig, Donna Witner, Pat Linn, Loraine Lewis, Ioyce Kinney and Doris Cozad. Dorothy Duff was one of the Bell Tones. When Dorothy was a sophomore her arrangement of Blue Tango was used when they made their television debut. The Music award was presented to Diana Craig by Mrs. Hanson.
