f 1 SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Way way back nn the drm past when we Senrors were green Freshmen we drs played slrght evxdence of the ambtttous energettc lrxe wrres we were to become rn 1942 Tryrng to get out of our oyster shells we made our debut at the Fresh men Party Begtnmng to feel grown up we were taken down a peg or two when the Sentors declared a Sentor day Wrth the HIS! taste of hugh school exams our freshman year ended When we came back the followmg autumn we gay young Sophomores started our soctal wear by rnductmg the new crop of Freshres rnto school vwrth a Backwards Party Then we had a party for ourselxes To show that we were mdependent we refused to allow admrttance to any upperclassman We kept the soctal events rollmg vwtth a good old fashroned Barn Dance complete wrth caller and all the accessortes Of course we rtgged ourselves out tn the werrdest costumes for the Halloween Dance That too was the year that the notorrous Home Room D brought therr lunch and staged a sat down strrke durmg the noon hour We vtere drsmtssed more raptdly after thatl Ahl At last we were the Jolly Junrors and on the road to success for thus class was gomg to make a huge balance xn the treasury Vke ordered rtngs and elected class offrcers for the ETSI ttme Danny Nathan became our presrdent Vrola Craft the uce presldent Bruce Nall the treasurer and Ann Corcoran the secretary We attended the Semor Play and wondered rf ours would be as good as Lady of Letters We were at the peak of happrness when our dachshund trxumphed oter the Senrors Donald Duck tn the annual Juntor Sentor game The maroon and whrte vsaxed wrctorrously and the encounter netted us the most money ever made at thrs game Our patrrotrc Prom was a great success as we trtpped the ltght fantasttc to the stratns of a ten prece orchestra Our Junror year ended as we danced on the deck of the Sentor flagshtp at the Receptton Could tt be that vte were actually Senxors at long last, We werent any drfferent than before but as ttme vsent on vte acquxred the dtgmty that becomes a Sentor We formed our class rn Home Room 24 and elected our offrcers after a strong polttlcal contest Harold Bollm vson the prestdency Vxola Craft agatr retatned the vtce presidency Robert Lrbsen became treasurer and Ann Corcoran agatn fulnlled the secrttarys dutxes Wrth thrs attended to vue settled down to make our class outstandtng Our maga71ne campargn netted us more money than any precedmg class The Late Chrxstopher Bean was our chorce for the Senror Play and a capacrty crowd attended the excellent productxon both mghts O March I4 the Dachshund wtth many maroon and whtte attrred Seruors attended the tradtttonal .lumor Semor game to see our worthy grrls and boys mowed down by a rxsmg Junlor team L1ll1an Ptun and Dons Coles entered 1nto the Splflt of thxngs Cboth were knocked outj We attended the Student Councxl Circus on March 16 at whtch trme the School gymnasrum harbored an elephant and a camel among other thmgs Ju- LE On. wt' Else ' f 1 ' ' b luv I MX f :::::5 , fl X N4 , . , . . . , . .
