SCHOOL SERVICE CLUB The School Servxce Club IS not an honorary club as most people thrnk Its members must possess personahty cheerfulness tact a nxce appearance and must have an erghty average They are often needed to work durmg study hall to conduct vnsntors about the school to help ln the mam office At school affarrs they are often asked to usher ARCHERY CLUB Our archers dont profess to be skilled but at any rate they are much better than they were upon frrst entering the ,Archery Club When the weather rs permrssable they learn about shootmg and ordmary target shootmg and when bad weather pr varls they stay mdoors and learn about the orrgrn our mascot They re so good at hxttmg the bulls eye that Im glad I am a duck' STUDENT COUNCIL Our mascot dares not end hrs tour wxthout mentlonlng the Student Councxl whrch he thlnks IS just about tops and I thmk everyone agrees wxth h1m Its members are chosen by popular vote one from each home room I'hexr dutnes are to lay out plans concernmg the students relat1onsh1p 1n the offnce Several school affaxrs were sponsored by them durmg the school year V C . . . . of archery and make their own quivers and arrows. SCIENCE CI UB The Scrence Club under the supervnsron of Mr Eckert has made several outstandlng projects Among them ts a geologrcal map of New York State an electrrcal questron board and a panel showmg the metals and therr ores Mr Duck wrshes to report that he has recetved hrs best grade of bakrng powder harr shampoo and water softener from these lndustrtous students Quack uack are they rm portant' RED CROSS CI UB Takmg the place of the sewlng club thrs year ns the Red Cross Club It was started ln September 1940 and has been of untold help to the Red Cross organrzatrons The members have made srx parr of rompers etght school aprons eight dresses and twelve baby krmonas for the Junror Red Cross and for the Ulster County Red Cross they have made twenty four skrrts and thrrty srx parrs of short trousers FANCY WORK CLUB Our mascot whrle venturing through thus department regrets to admrt that he was not very successful rn manrpulat mg two knttttng needles at one time However some of the members are more skrlled and have accompltshed much rn the lme of embrorderrng tattmg crochttlng and kmttmg DANCING Cl UB By and by Mr Duck says Ellenvrlle Hugh School wrll even have students gorng to Hollywood He has watched them Improve rn therr dantlng srnce the new danctng club vtas organr7ed rn January During the club penods the members have a short busmess meetnng wrth drscussrons on dancmg etrquette and danctng A Dancrng specrallst was their guest durrng one club period After school on I-rrday they have conducted dancing classes for the benefrt of the begmners
