Inex¬ perie nce was a factor but the Cardinal team was still a surprise to many of their opponents. The Cardinals ended their season with a 9-12 win-loss record. IS 1986 Redbird [High School Annual, Ellendale North Dakota] BOYS’ GIRLS’ TRACK TRACK The season was filled with work for both the boys and the girls and at times it didn ' t all seem worth it because of much bad weather. The track meets were held in snow and cold weather. The work of running, practicing exchanges, and giving up many of their Saturdays paid off for a few of the tracksters who qualified for state. They played for EOE and the Christmas, winter, and spr¬ ing concerts. With all the work that the band put into con¬ tests it was a disappointment that they were cancelled. SWING CHOIR AND STAGEBAND The swing choir and stagehand ended the year on a good note! Both did a super job in all performances. REDBIRD This year’s annual staff was very dedicated. It took a lot of work to put the book together. Sometimes it didn’t seem possible but with the help of Mrs. Kuck, a very cooperative Hardin ' s Photography, and Taylor Publishing Company it got done. There was a lot of typing, cap¬ tions, and designing of pages that was done over the school year. Usually it is hard to get the freshmen involved with things but they definitely showed they could pull their weight on the annual staff. Christy Klipfel did a lot of the work for them. She was not only a photographer, but also designed many pages. Some of the things that they covered were sports, prom, homecoming, music contests and concerts, senior interviews, and senior wills.
