Fastbreak The boys basketball team finished the 198081 season with a 1110 win loss record. The Cardinals lost the Cowbell game 55-43. The most memorable game was against Oakes when the Cards won 42-34. The game was called with six minutes to go in the fourth quarter due to the slippery floor. In the first round of District play, Ellendale defeated La- Moure 66-58. In the second round, Cards met Marion but failed to come up victorious. In the consolation game Ellendale beat Verona 60-49. The Cards weren ' t given the chance to challenge due to the fact they had lost earlier to Marion in the tournament. Alan Coleman and Rick VanGar- ven were named to the South-East All-Conference team.
