STUDENT ASSISTANTS The job as a student manager has few fringe benefits besides getting into all the games free. And they never get to watch the game because they are busy running back and forth between the coaches and the players. Managers are expected to do every¬ thing from keeping stats to scrubbing wrestling mats. Coaches and ath¬ letes appreciate their managers because they depend on them a lot. BOY’S GIRL’S TRACK RUN LIKE THE WIND Coaching by James Johnson and team efforts put the girls’ in fifth place at the Conference meet at Valley City. Lisa Voegeli. track captain, advanced to the State Meet at Dickinson placing second in the 1600 meter and third in the 800 and 2400 meters, finishing in eighth place with total points overall. Coach Lee Alger and Co-Captains Dale Aman and Glenn Mastel led the boy’s track team to a third place at the Conference meet. Dale Kurth went on to competition to repeat his title as State Champion at the discus throw. Glenn Mastel came through with a first place in the 1600 meter and a second place finish in the 3200 meter run. Kurth and Mastel placed sixth overall as a team.
