student assistants H Much credit should go to those who took an ac¬ tive role in assisting the administration and faculty. By no means sidewalk superintendents , they actually participated in school operation. The main groups were office aides, library assistants, and student athletic managers. student council The Council was the subject of some controversy this year and the result can only be good. Through constructive criticism some of the apathy has fallen away from both members and students. This was evidenced by a constitutional revision. The main point would allow Council members to share, through an advisory capacity, in the preparation of the Stu¬ dent Handbook. Other prominent points dealt with election reforms and an honor system for evaluating members. One small but significant improvement, allowing girls to wear culottes at athletic events, has already become effective. The organization sponsored three dances this year, as well as a talent show and a Thanksgiving turkey drawing.
