155A SHIP K in sO cn in An eventful day, September 7, 19l|8, saw thirty- three starry-eyed freshmen begin their four years of high school. We elected as our class officers: Marilyn Neumann, president? Bob Higgs, vice president; and Esther Schaller, secretary- treasurer. Mr. Shelver was our class advisor. We all pitched in and helped with the annual Oompah. Beverley Gerdon and Bob Higgs were our candidates for queen and king. We journeyed to Weber ' s Gulch for our class picnic and spent the entire day dating pickles and ice cream and racing up and down the hills. After a summer vacation thirty-three sophomores proudly ascended the stairs to begin the first of their three years in Senior High. Our class officers that year were: Esther Schaller, president; Peggy Hatfield, vice president; and Joyce Evans, secretary- treasurer. On October lU these thirty-three unhappy sophs were officially initiated into Senior High by the mighty seniors. We picnicked at Rich- mond Lake. By the time we became juniors, several of our classmates had dropped out and our class enrollment went down to twenty-eight. Our class officers were: Jack Haider, president; Grace Bell, vice president; and Marilyn Neumann, secretary- treasurer. Miss Onsrud was class advisor. On December 1 we successfully presented the junior class play, Old Doc . March 29 brought the Junior Frolics. This rollicking show was entirely under the able juniors ' direction. All of these events led up to the really big show- the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, which took place May 15. “Hawaiian Cruise was our theme; and as we stepped of f the gangplank of the E.H.S Cruiser into Hawaii, we were welcomed by the music of John Taylor ' s orchestra. On September 1 , 195 1, we entered into the doors of E.H.S. to begin our last and most eventful year. We elected as our class officers: Marilyn Neumann, president; Esther Schaller, vice president; and Grace Bell, secretary- treasurer. Mr. Ingvalson was our advisor. This year the class took over the responsibility of editing the Cardinal. -3 1952 Ellendale High School Yearbook - Coleman Museum 2017
