o uO 1 4 X) M Membership in Keystone is based on four qualities: scholarship, leadership, character, and service. All students inducted into this society are members for life, or as long as they fulfill the requirements. Ellendale high school’s Keystone society was organized in 1929; to date there are a total of one hundred and forty- three members. 1 f Sally Crabtree and Shirley Adams became members in their junior year, and Helen Hagel, Joyce Hokana, Arlene Hetzlaff, Renee Olson, and Daniel Sleramons be- came members in their senior year. BAND FESTIVAL The band festival , which was -held in LaMoure on April 13, included LaMoure, Cakes, and Ellendale. The first festival was held in 1?37, but the festivals were discontinued for a number of years during and after the 7, ' ar. High School band, conducted by Mr. Melby, gave a twenty-minute concert before Mr. Ishmael ' s lyceum program. The band put on this program to make money for their new uniforms, which they wore for the first time that night. The uni- forms, which have red jackets with gold braid and white pants will add considerably to the band. The following program was presented: March — Brass Pageantry Anton E.
