On September 5, 1950, 23 brassy looking juniors entered senior high and took their seats just two rows from the windows. Throughout the year the juniors spon- sored their share of the school parties, sold Christmas cards, ran a concession stand at the basketball games, and had a bake sale. On December 1, 1950, the juniors presented a three act corned; -, entitled Old Doc . The play was very successful from both the financial and attendance view- point. From the proceeds of the play, the junior class donated thirty dollars to the hospital in their name plus fifteen dollars for a clock which is to be hung in the corridor of the hospital in honor of Miss Onsrud. The juniors next money-making event took place on March 29 , 1951. It was the Junior Frolics . This included two skits, a one act play, and several musical and comedy numbers. On May 15, 1951, the junior-senior banquet and prom took place. John Taylor and his orchestra provided the music. The big gym was decorated with an array of palm trees and a large variety of colors, setting the scene for our theme, Hawai ian Crui se . 1951 Ellendale High School Yearbook -Coleman Museum 2017

Clad in their original costumes, they paraded down Main Street. At the party several exhibitions of their talents were given. After the stunts they were allowed to go home and change their costumes. The rest of the evening was fully enjoyed by them all. The sophs took initiation with a grin, but oh, sweet revenge. During the year the sophomores entertained the Junior and Senior High School at several successful parties. The class officers for the year were: Gary Edwards, president} Elden Reinke, vice-president; Norman Stahlecker, treasurer; and Carolyn Pierce, secretary.
