0523 165 This year the Ellendale High School Band celebrated the twenty-fifth year of its existence. The year 192lj marked the beginning of a new era in the history of the school when W. L. Briley was employed by the school board to organize instruction in instrumental music. The school has boasted a band ever SinCe he band has begun a campaign for new uniforms. No decision has been made concerning style or color, but general opinion leans toward slacks and double- breasted coats in the school colors — red and black. Band Program On December 8, the band sponsored a novelty program in the high school gymnasium. Mr. Melby, director, invited several non-band students to Present their numbers. The first half of the program included music by the band; the second, novelty and inpersonation. Records of popular singers were played bac stage while students stood before the audience and went through the motions of singing. Harris Voegeli was the swing band leader and the Andrew Sisters were Owen Evans, Isaac Hill, and Jack Helder. Semper Fidelis March Carnival of Roses . The Waltz King . .. Merry Men .....
