CHORAL MUSIC ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM The processional of singers started at 8:00 o’clock. With the high school chorus serving as a nucleus, the entire group numbered over 200 voices, and included children from grades three to twelve inclusive. A fac ulty committee in charge of decorations and staging consisted of Mrs. Opal Brouillard, Mrs. Lemana Heckmann and C. H. Picken. A number of Christmas carols were used, but there were also special numbers by both high school and grade choral groups. Miss Martha Buck was in general charge of the program and directed the high school chorus. She was assisted by Mrs. Harriet Randall, who directed an upper grade group, and Mrs. Le- mana Heckmann, who had charge of the third, fourth, and fifth grade chorus. A group of high school girls coached by Miss Mina Onsrud read the Christmas story in unison. Janice Rime was the principal accompanist. S. Chorus O Come, All Ye Faithful Recessional CHORAL FESTIVAL The annual Dickey-LaMoure Choral Festival was held in Oakes, May 1. Mr. Hywell C. Roland, for the fourteenth consecutive year, directed the Joint choruses from Edgeley, Oakes, LaMoure, and Ellendale. The Sophomore Class presented a number of one-act plays this year. On October 17 a good-english play in one act, “Talk is Cheap”, was given by the follow- ing cast: Harriet - Ruth Hokana; Jane - Lois Griffin; Mary - Marilyn Strand; Peggy - La- June Gebhardt; Carolyn - Betty Hiepler; Sally - Elizabeth Ann Zinter; Polly - Diane Hess. Friday, April 5, in Senior Assembly a group of Sophomore girls gave the play, “Pledges”, by Dora Mary MacDonald. The play was a les- son in good manners. The cast comprised: Ber- nice - Joan Meyer; Charlotte - Ardys Johnson; Peg - Frances McShane; Marie - Helen Fiecht- ner; Helen - Vivian West; Caroline - Beverly Kern; Olive - Eleanor Wallace; Jean - Lillie Mayer.
