The Microphone Published under the direction of the officers of the Senior Class MAY 1945 John B. Blumer President Thomas M. Brouillard Vice-President Betty M. Mallom Secretary-Treasurer E. C. Ingvalson Advisor For the eleventh consecutive year the senior class of Ellendale High School is publishing the Micro- phone. Its function is to bring to the attention of parents and patrons the many activities of the school. For the students and particularly the seniors it serves as a medium of recounting and preserving many of the happy and meaningful events with their school life is crowded. Faculty E. C. He ex- plodes — and wow! Here’s the cast: Betty Neil, a high school student Delores Green June Neil, her young sister Rosemary Davis Dan Collins, quiet and even-tempered Malcolm Goddard Mary Collins, Betty’s school chum. ...Christine Nelson Lee Austin, an aggressive senior Barton Slemmons Mrs. Neil, mother of Betty and June.Myrna Wallace Mr. Smith, a business executive Wayne Merrick MARY F. STRAND Dedication To one of the most unselfish and tireless teachers in high school, Mrs. Strand, we dedicate this year ' s Microphone, in sincere appreciation of her kind and patient service to us. o In Retrospect The members of the Class of 1945 have reached that climax of twelve years in school — Commence- ment. As we look back it does not seem that we have been that long in getting to this point; rather, it seems only yesterday that we were all strangers. Today we are old friends. We have gone far to- gether; we have lived and we have learned. Soon, our days together will be through. The school dances, Oakes ' games, prom and banquet will be over but never forgotten. Each of these shall be cherished memories that we will carry with us for- ever. It is with great regret that we, the Seniors of ' 45, leave our alma mater. We know that each one of us has his duty to fulfill in life and with this thought ever in our minds we separate, probably never to be together again except in our great loyalty — to our school, our country, and to our Creator. — G.B.W. o Baccalaureate Service Sunday, May 27—8:15 P.
