Text from Pages 1 - 72 of the 1966 volume:

1966 Ellenburg Central School Presented by the Staff and Yearbook Club of 1965-1966 7n TIT2 n oriam Mrs. Gladys Manor, an outstanding teacher among teachers ... an outstanding person among all persons . . . you were one who will be remembered with fondness and admiration and devotion, for you were one who commanded such attributes; and much more. You de- voted six years to our own Ellenburg Central School; six short years of guidance and inspira- tion, which can never be repaid . . . only remembered . . . and perhaps that is the great- est of all attributes ... for in this way you continue to live in the memory of each and every one of us. Dedication The 1966 “Golden Eagle” is proudly and respectfully dedicated to Mr. Arthur Wells in return for the price- less gifts of guidance and inspiration he has bestowed upon us. It is our way of expressing our gratitude and our sincere appreciation for all that he has done for us for the past five years at Ellenburg Central School. JPrincipal's Jit ess ape Members of the Class of 1966: In obtaining your education, you have the enviable opportunity to share in greatness. You have the oppor- tunity to develop your special talents to their fullest extent, and to prepare for your chosen career. You have the opportunity to gain an educational background that will enable you to participate as an en- lightened citizen in the affairs of your community, state and nation. The most important aspect of an educa- tion is the personal benefit to you as an individual. Each of you desires to live a full, rich and rewarding life. During these years you will complete further edu- cation, go into military service, or your chosen field of work. These are the years that contribute to your future happiness. These are the years during which you are building your future and in which you will determine the richness, the fullness, and the completeness of your adult life. As you leave the Ellenburg Central School, you might think about this statement by Albert Einstein: A hundred times a day 1 remind myself that my inner and outer life depend on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as 1 have received and am receiving.” Best wishes for much happiness and success to each and every one.
