The Mulkin twlns Mary Kathryn and Wanda Mae led the cheers again this year or their second year The girls took art in ever arne both at home ATHLETICS COACH IVAN HALL Coach Ivan Hall graduated from Monmouth College. lt was there that he gained his great knowledge of football and basketball, Since coming to Elkville, Mr. Hall has made many friends and has always been Well liked by his teams. He also has quite a successful record in the win and lose column. Since l936, his basket- ball teams have Won lU8 games While losing only 72. His football teams have Won 25 games while losing 23. CONlFlElRlENClE CHAMPIONS 119413 3 K .1 :greg First Row: Coach Hall, Herbert McCall, Perry Ward, Cecil Brown, Arkell Wisely, Eugene Robinson, Elmer Cassai, lack Crews, Obediah Nance, Bill Skarupa, Charley Kristaluzy, Bernard Grey. Second Row: Richard Brown, Bob Iones, Bobby Craig, Ardell Walters, Donald Crews, Fred Pickering, Ioe Cochran, Bob Saunders, larnes Getzie, Pete Re, Bill Le Pere, Frank Turok, James Bowling. The l942-43 Basketball squad representing E.C.H.S. was a smooth Work- ing combination which managed to win eight of its first eleven games. Like the football schedule the basketball schedule consisted of schools ranging all the Way from twice our size to three or four times our size. Even though the team played under this handicap they always managed to hold their own. The first five consisted of Cecil Brown, Arkell Wisely, Charlie Krisfaluzy, lack Crews, and Obadiah Nance. All of the first five were seniors except Brown. Other Seniors on the squad were Pete Re, Bill Le Pere, Perry Ward, Elmer Cassai and Eugene Robinson. Fifth Row: Loudene Power, Elouise Porter, Wanda Mae Mulkin, Mary Pickering, Betty Iune Holshouser. The Girls Athletic Association was sponsored the first half of this year by Miss Ruth Lucas. Due to her resignation Miss Pauline Douglas sponsored the organization the last half. The organization started in the year l934, and has been growing rapidly since. This year there are sixty-two members, which is the greatest number since it was introduced into the Elkville High School. At the end of the previous year the following officers were elected: President, Christina Thomasg Vice-President, Catherine Contri, Secretary- Treasurer, Nadine Morris. Due to the resignation of Catherine Contri, lrno- gene Abbott was elected Vice-President. The season opened with such games as softball, volley ball, bound ball, basketball and hockey. Other interesting games were introduced. Letters were awarded each year to those having the required number of points. The awards are the letter E, the letter l, and the map of lllinois. f34l
