' EJ. Lrlltjkg, . i H, KING AND QUEEN This year, as every year, the lunior Class sponsored a carnival. Under the assistance and guidance of Miss Lucas and Miss Hargis, the lunior Class made a net profit of Sl26.6O. This amount set a new record for money taken in by any preceeding carnival. The lunior Class should be complimented on the fine carnival they had. There were all sorts of games, refreshments, etc. Candidates for King and Queen were elected from each class. Votes were sold to determine the winner. Each class could tell how tar their candi- dates Were by Watching the thermometers. The more votes that were bought, the higher the thermometer would rise. At lU o'clock the polls were closed and the winners determined. The Sophomore candidates, Florene Morgan and Harry Williamson, had the honor ot being crowned King and Queen of the lunior Carnival of 1942. 1265

Miss Kachelhoffer was our sponsor the first of the year until her resignation. The BLUEBIRD CHATTER was founded December 2, 1938, to promote the best interests of E.C.H.S. It comes off the press every Thursday, a day everyone looks forward to, and is sold at noon, at the price of one cent each. lt contains all news of the school, including sports, music, class news, alumni, P.T.A., jokes, and other important local news of the school. A special column, known as Snoop is a popular feature of the paper. The staff of the BLUEBIRD CHATTER this year was chosen by the faculty and staff of last year. The BLUEBIRD CHATTER is not only sold to students of E.C.H.S., but also has many subscribers to whom it is of much interest. l27l
