f f Qrx A x Freshman Hzstory September 4 1952 was an excrtlng day for twenty former Grade school students That had advanced from the emghth grade to the posltmon as Freshlrlen of the Elkton I-hgh School At flrst they felt rather out of place and perhaps a llttle awkward but xfter 1n1t1at1on they proudly took thelr places as Freshmen Of these twenty only e1ght had begun thexr school days together at Elkton Grade School mne years afvo These were Boyd Garrlson Ronald Moore Jack Whmtfleld Larry Bmshop R1ch1rd McDonald Molly Monner Marjorle Weatherly and Claudla Brnder Others Jolned as they made the1r way up to the e1ghth grade Durlng thelr Freshm IU year Bert oh xrp Marvm Hutchlson and Jrm Davls were welcomed brlngxng the record up to twenty three the largest class of Elkton I-hgh School The Freshmen are proud of the athletlc ab1l1ty of thelr boys especrally that of Rana-kd M9ore who was a sub on the A quad 1n basketball A majorlty of the boys have part1c1pated IH football basketball and baseball The gmrls were enercfetlc and entered 1nto many school actxvrtzes Patr1c1a St Denms and Larry Bmshop were chosen as the Freshman prrncess and escort of the 1952 Carmval Court Dean C1111 acted as a guard The class offlcers thls year were Claud1a Bmnder Presldent Gerald I-Innes Vlce Presxdent Wayne Dement and Ronald Moore Serveant at Arms Larry Blshop Treasurer Boyd Garrmson Secretary The Freshmen have successfully made thelr way through theu' flrst year of hmgh school wlth the help of thexr 'xdvlsor Mrs Fhtcroft 2.6 rw!! fcxo ,Ju ,N .
