vs L f E its ' 3' .Tumor Hlstory gg 5: Wtth the advent of a new fall term on September 4 1952 emghteen Jumors took thetr posttmon 1n the tanks of upperclassmen Marlys Gosser was the only newcomer to the class Three grrls Corlnne Andrews Margaret Otto and Beth Weatherly had come all the way from the f1rst grade tooether Irene Duncan Lorna Machson Frank Glll Norene Compton and Douglas Dement Jomed the three mn the fourth grade Darlene Mad1son Jomned thrs group 1n the fmfth In the seventh grade Jerry Romesmo and Betty Hendrrckson made the1r appearance followed by Jewel Jones rn the emghth orade ln thexr frrst year of hloh school Glen I-larbaugh and Paul Scalhon Jomed the twelve Jamce Worden Larry Hescock and Dorothy Brownson came as Sophomores to com plete the 11 st Later on Marlys Gosser Jamce Worden and Darlene Madv son dropped from the p1cture but they were partly replaced by Paul Looker and Douglas Caudell The Jumor year 1s one of the more actmve years 1n hxgh school and th1s year s Jumors made xt a full one Every gmrl parttcrpated rn sports A or the boys Paul Scall1on Frank Gmll Larry Hescock Doug Dement and Glen Harbauoh played on the champ1onsh1p football squad These boys w1th the excluslon of Paul Scalllon were ranklng members of the varslty basketball At the annual fall carnlval the Jun1or Class pr1ncesS Beth VK eatherly was escorted by Jerry Romesmo tn the court of Queen Grace Scrmbner In February the Junmors publlshed THE ELK to get them ln practlce for the next school year One of the mam acttvrtxes of the class was the presentat1on of the1r cla s play Off the Track A flrst try at actlng for many of the class the play was pronounced successful after weeks of hard and wearlsome practrce By far the most lmportant and colorful event of the year was the .Tumor Semor Banquet and Prom sponsored by the Junlor Class On May 1 1953 wrth an approprrate May Day' theme thms event marked almost the close of a busy year All class members were actlve ln student body affalrs Jerry Romesmo was Vtce Presmdent of the student body and of the student counc1l Beth We ltherly was Secretary of the same Glen Harbauoh as class Presldent was Jumor Class counc1l representatlve Several students were also on the paper staff Beth Neatherly was ass1stant paper edltor Betty Hendrlckson was assxstant bustness manager Corlnne ,Andrews was m charge of the ad make up and Jerry Rornesmo was a proofreader Offmcer for the year were Glen Harbauwh Presldent Doug Dement Vtce Presmdent Betty Hendrrckson secretary and Jerry Romesmo Treasurer Class advxsor was Mr Brown Z0 F 'A QJA S T f . . 1 N F . .
