Coach’s comments, “The eighth grade team completed a very successful sea- son. They won 13 games and lost 2. During the season they also won two tournaments. They had a one point loss and a four point loss. This team dedicated themselves to becoming the best they could, and they demonstrat- ed strength that can come through working as a team. The seventh grade didn’t win a game, but they showed constant improve- ment throughout the year. It was a suc- cessful season because the people im- proved.’’ Front row: Jennifer Landsman. Fans line up to greet the Elks Coach DeBoer comments on the team's fine efforts throughout the season. “The 1986-87 boys basketball team had a very good season. They finished with a 17-5 season record playing many of the state’s best teams. They were a team with many physical skills as evident by their style of play. Their abilities on the court gave the community something to take pride in. More impres- sive than their physical abilities, however, was their character and determination. The individual qualities they possess that made them a GREAT team will help them to become even better citizens. Steve adds two to the score- board. David looks for the open man. We’re No. 1! Put it in, Brian! EfldoHi Ml. BaikftbaX This year Kelly Kramer, a senior, was chosen as Most Valuable Player of the Eastern Dakota Con- ference boys basketball team. He was also select- ed to be on the Class B All-State first team. Kelly had the privilege of being one of twelve persons nominated for Mr. Basketball by Hansen-Ander- sen Basketball Preview and was awarded a plaque while attending a banquet in the candi- dates’ honor. His positions as forward and center lead the team to many victories during his high school career.
