Have 7-11 Season Coach Brown commented, if you measure a team by how much it improves during a season, the Girls basketball team had a very successful season. We were an inexperienced team at the start of the year and it just took some time for us to put things together. Our record of 7-11 is very deceiving. We lost a lot of ball games that could have gone either way early in the year. In the last three weeks we played our best basketball and we started to win some games. We really felt that we could win the District, but the ball just wouldn't fall through the basket. I guess it just wasn't meant to be. The year was a learning process for all of us, and I enjoyed working with the girls. We will miss the Seniors who have contributed much to the Girls program over the last four years. We are looking forward to a very successful season next year. OK, Let's show 'em our stuff! 17

The Celebration Of Winning District X '2 f i bl Defeating Deubrook 55-48 and then Sioux Valley 55-50 in a double overtime for the District X Championship was a dream come true. The whole town celebrated after two nerve-wracking games. A three mile caravan of cars met the player bus; and players, cheerleaders, and fans went to the Knotty Pine for steaks. Support for the Elks was fantastic the week of the tournaments. A sign on Main Street said it all, The last one to leave town, turn the lights out! P Clockwise I. to r.: Chuck Lorden (31) shoots against Estelline Defense. - Larry and Danny after District X win. - Doctor M shoots his hook - Mike shoots and coaches pray! - A supporting crowd leaves after another victory. w -
