The highlight of the pep rally came when Terry Smith, master of ceremonies, announced that Ronald Engelbrecht and Nancy Myers were chosen as the '61 Homecoming Lord and Lady. The attendants were Robert Overend, Patricia Cochran, Sylvester Luze, and Barbara Bruening. The program consisted of a sports cast pantomlne, pep talks, cheers, and the little bream Jug contest. The contest was won by the seniors, who have won it for the third year. A snake dance was held, led by the cheerleaders, to the Elk Bowl, where a huge bonfire was the main attraction. On Saturday evening the Elkton Elks were defeated after a thrilling game by the Tyler Danes with a scare of 21-20. The Credits provided music at the Homecoming dance to bring the '61 Homecoming to a close. JUNIOR - SENIOR PROM •MARDI GRAS The Seniors of E.H.S. donned their cape and gowns on that long awaited evening of May 29, 1962. Solemnly, the Seniore marched up the aisle to receive their oherlehed diplomas. The warm memories of S.H.S. will long remain In the hearts of these graduated students. The Senior class of '62 will use the talents that they have acquired In these last four years of training to good advantage In their life to come. A youth, to fortune and fame unknown , the motto of the Senior class, symbolized their optimistic attitude of life. They chose as their colors, white and gold, and their flower was the yellow chrysanthemum. These material symbols will for ever signify the warm friends and happy events of their last year of high school. Professor H. W. Oadda, of the Agriculture Department of South Dakota Atate College, gave the commencement address to complete this memorable evening.
