The Glee Club was Mr. Hofland's pride and joy when they brought home a Superior rating from the Regional Contest, April 8, in Brookings. CLUB Our musically inclined boys joined ranks and formed the masculine compliment to the vocal program at E.H.S. The Madrigal group is a newcomer to the Music Department. They sing lyric poems to music. HOMECOMING The Elkton High School Homecoming activities were held on October 6th and 7th. The activities began Thursday at the auditorium with the Master of Ceremonies, Robert Overand, announcing the program. There was a yelling contest, cheers led by the cheerleaders, and the little brown Jug contest with the Juniors yelling the loudest and wlming the Jug. The main attraction of the evening was the crowning of Ju fy Dahl and Larry Stauffer, as 1961 Homecoming Lady and Lord. The attendants were Jean Baker, Carol Kurtz, Robert Mersch, and Paul Swift. After the program the snake dance led by the cheer- leaders and Royalty, moved to the Elk Bowl for a pep meeting around a large bonfire. Friday night the Elkton Elks met defeat by losing to Gary 32 to Ik To bring the Homecoming to a close a dance followed the game. The Ambassodors provided the music for the dance. n n « F.F.A.
