HOMECOMING The Elkton High School Homecoming activities were held Thursday, October 1. The highlight of the pep rally came when Charles Zink, «aster of ceremonies, announced that Harvey Baker and Patricia Pinkston were chosen as the '59 Homeconing Lord and Lady with Bill Zink, Harcene Qroep- per, David Risch, and Sharon Beers, the attendants. After the program of a football pantonine, cheers, pep talks, and the little blue Jug contest, won by the sophomores, a snake dance was held, led by the cheer- leaders to the Elk Bowl where the huge bon- fire was the main attraction. Friday night the Elks scored a victory over the Rutland Ramblers 35-20. The Pat Bofftaan orchestra provided music at the Homecoming dance after the game to the bring the '59 Homecoming to a close. COMMENCEMENT The long-awaited time had arrived. We, The Seniors of I960, were lined up and preparing the walk for the graduation march. As we donned our caps and gowns and kept in step to Pomp and Circumstance we realized that this was truly conmencement, another milestone of our lives. Many of our most cherished and lasting friendships would melt into the future. Our motto, Excelsior , will ever be before us as a stepping stone to strive onward and upward. Our class colors of blue and silver, and our class flower, a pink rose, shall ever signify our graduation. This memorable date in our lives took place on May seventeenth, nineteen hundred sixty with Dean Ray Chapman giving the address for the commencement exercises.
