AGRICULTURE I The Agriculture I class shown hav- ing shop in the Ag building. The freshmen have one shop period and one class period everyday. GENERAL SCIENCE Instructor Mr. Hampson is lectur- ing the general science class, which is composed entirely of freshman. General science gives the students a basis for further science courses. AGRICULTURE II Mr. Bohuslav, Ag and Shop teacher, is instructing four of the sophomore Ag students in the difference be- tween types of seeds. SCIENCE CLUB OFFICERS The Science Club officers and Mr. Bohuslav, advisor, shown with the Wimhurst machine. BIOLOGY As follow-up of their general science work, this group of sophomores are taking biology. Mr. Hampson is show- ing a film. 17

CLASSES IN ACTION HOMEMAKING II The sophomore girls, with the lar- gest enrollment in the Homemaking department, are working on their food unit. The class served lunch- eons during the year. CHEMISTRY Members of the chemistry class are shown with their advisor, Mr. Bohuslav. The chemistry class is alternated with physics every other year. HOMEMAKING I Shown is the freshman homemaking class engaged in a sewing unit. They also studied cooking, home manage- ment and buying. JUNIOR AND SENIOR SHOP Junior and senior boys are using some of the equipment in the Ag building. Mr. Bohuslav teaches both Ag and Shop. The boys have all com- pleted severed projects. HOMEMAKING III Junior homemaking girls are re- ceiving instructions from their ad- visor, Mrs. Wallace. The girls have completed sewing, cooking, home management, interior decorating, and family relations. 16

BOOKKEEPING Some of the members of the book- keeping class are shown at work. The class has studied different methods of bookkeeping and com- pleted the Hunter Practice Set. OFFICE PRACTICE Three of the girls in the Office Practice class, Rosemary Salk, Evalu Fulmer, and Anita Kramer are shown working. The class takes shorthand dictation, types, and stud- ies other office procedure. TYPING Typing I students, starting as be- ginners in the first part of the year, took over the publishing of the Elk- O-Gram at the second semester. JOURNALISM The journalism class published the Elk-O-Gram during the first sem- ester. The class, as part of the com- mercial department is under the di- rection of Mrs. Schirmer. 18
