DEDICATION We, the Senior Class of 1955, dedicate the ELK to the alumni who have passed through the portals of EHS. The halls have echoed their footsteps and heard their laughter. As a tribute to their achievements and contri- butions to EHS we dedicate this book. THE VOICE OF MEMORY Sometimes between the dusk and night When evening shadows fall, I seem to hear a far-off sound, A tender, beckoning call. Soft as the song of the nightingale, Sad as the lone bird's call, Is the sound of that voice as it calls to me, And on my spirit falls. And as I list, tears fill mine eyes, And a breathless silence reigns, While the voice of memory is calling me, Calling me back again. 2
