There are two sections the A band and the B band. The A band has played at' various school activities. Some of them are the homecoming, football games, bas- ketball games, and the District tournament. Left to Right-Nancy Buchholtz, Evonne Ekberg, Jean Blomgren. SOLOISTS The Instrumental Soloists attended the contest at Milbank on February 10. Nancy Buchholtz, coronet soloist, chose as her selection “Forest Echoes’ . MIXED CHORUS Under the direction of Mrs. Heartz the Mixed Chorus was organized for the first time this year. The first appearance the chorus made was at the grade school Christ- mas program. HOME ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT HOME EC. II In Elkton High School three years of Home making are offered in a modern equipped department. The kitchen department is equipped with modern style cabinets, refrigerator, and this year two late model stoves were added. These things give the girls actual practice in planning and preparing meals. In the sewing unit there are electric sewing ma- chines that give the girls opportunity to make cloth- ing articles for themselves. Besides this the depart- ment offers units in family relations, marriage and careers, and costume designs, as well as many other crafts and hobbies. HOME EC. I There are forty members in the Elkton Chapter F.H.A.. Our organization is a na- tional affiliation association sponsored by the American Home Economics Association. The advisor of F.H.A. is Mrs. Kurtz. The organization has a business meeting on the third Wednesday of each month and a social meeting on the second Monday of each month.
