MIXED CHORUS Under the direction of Mrs. Heartz the Mixed Chorus was organized for the first time this year. The first appearance the chorus made was at the grade school Christ- mas program. Mary Heesch, mezzo soprano, sang “Prayer Perfect and “Velia . “Will O the Wisp and “My Heart Is a Silent Violin was sung by Janice Mundahl also a mezzo soprano. JoAnn Bartelt, a soprano soloist, sang “Fallen Leaf and “Little French Clock . “I Love Life and “I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked was sung by Eldon Ek- berg, tenor. 21

GLEE CLUB The glee club under the direction of Mrs. Heartz consists of twenty mem- bers. On April 9 the glee club entered the Region III music contest at Brookings. Eldon Ekberg, Vir- gil Kock, Joyce Baker, Mary Heesch, Janice Mundahl. OCTET Eight members complete the mixed octet. The songs, Hola Le Hola Lo and “ The Lord is My Shepherd , were sung by the octet at Mil bank February 10. They also sang at several events during the school year. 20

There are two sections the A band and the B band. The A band has played at' various school activities. SOLOISTS The Instrumental Soloists attended the contest at Milbank on February 10. Nancy Buchholtz, coronet soloist, chose as her selection “Forest Echoes’ .
