Wesley Moulton Girls are bothersome but I like to be bothered. Wesley was active in basketball, class play, FFA, and journalism. He also was a class officer, on the student council, and an FFA officer. Jeanette Peterson She is as kind as she is fair. Jeanette was a librarian, office helper, queen candidate, home- coming attendant, year book editor, and class president. She also took part in glee club, phys. ed., journalism, and dramatics. Joan Peterson She says what she thinks. Joan was active in glee club, journalism, phys. ed., library, mixed chorus, class play, and dramatics. She was also an office helper, on the student council, and a homecoming attendant. Geneva Welsh Likeable as she is lookable. During Geneva’s four years in high school she was active in journalism, phys. ed., glee club, FHA, cheerleading, library, dramatics, and hall of fame. Geneva was also our homecoming queen. Mary Buchholtz A member of the class of 1954, plans to graduate at a later date. 9

 Virgil Kock Women and wine make the world go round. Virgil took part in basketball, class play, FFA, journalism, mixed chorus and mixed octet. He was also a class officer, FFA officer and on the student council. Arlene Kroeger A smile for everyone from the bottom of her heart. Arlene has taken part in FHA, glee club, phys. ed., and journalism. She was a class officer, member of the student council, and a librarian. Darlene Krogmann When she’s around there is always fun. She was active in FHA, journalism, phys. ed., li- brary vid helped with the hot lunches. Marlys Landsman Silence is an art of conversation. Marlys was active in journalism, glee club, phys. ed., and FHA. She was co-editor of the Elk-O-Gram, assistant art editor of the annual, DAR repre - sentative, in the hall of fame and attended Brookings Ifigh School one year. Virginia Mielke A smile makes the best of friends. Virginia participated in FHA, glee club, phys. ed.. li- brary, journalism, and dramatics. Delillah Moulton Hmm those dark eyes! CLASS HISTORY In 1950 twenty two freshmen enrolled In Elktan High School. They elected Colleen Heffernan as their class president; Dick Bartelt. vice president; Peter Kelly, secretary-treasurer; and Mrs. Ellis Pierce advisor. Beverly Heesch and Dick Hammer were king and queen candidates. In 1951 twenty two sophomores enrolled with Dick Hammer and Eugene Trulock leaving and Marlys Landsman and Audrey Karstens taking their places. They chose Roma Fulmer as their class president; Virgil Kock, vice president; Arlene Kroeger, secretary-treasurer; and William Quincey, advisor. Elaine Miller and Dick Bartelt were chosen as the king and queen candidates. There were twenty three juniors enrolling in 1952 when Marvin Kick joined the class. Carolyn Hal- stead was chosen president; Wesley Moulton, vice president; Joan Peterson, secretary-treasurer; and Mrs. Ervin Kurtz, advisor. They presented the class play, Ryme and Ryme Again. The junior-senior banquet was given with a Hawaiian theme. Jeanette Peterson and Peter Kelly were the king and queen candidates. Twenty three seniors returned for their last year in 1953. Eldon Ekberg came in to take Elaine Miller’s place. They chose Jeanette Peterson as their president; Eldon Ekberg,vice president; Arlene Kroeger, secretary-treasurer; and Harrison J. Welch, advisor. Geneva Welsh was chosen as homecom- ing queen. They have been very active in a number of extra-curricular activities. The year 1954 brings to a close the four memorable years in Elkton High School with the Commence- ment exercise on Wednesday May 19.
