From The Editor’s Desk A year has passed, vanishing into the dusty annuals of yesterday. Though we may feel sharp pangs of sorrow at its passing, we realize that its bright happy days can never again be lived. Then we remember: there is always tomorrow. The future, be it bright or dim, awaits our touch. To you, my fellow Seniors, I want to express the great happiness your friendship and companionship has given me. I wish each of you continuing success and the total fulfillment of each of your goals. Underclassmen, I wish you shining years ahead. Live these years in sincerity, and you will never regret your high school years. To my loyal henchmen (Mrs. Amestoy, Val, Van, Gina, and Lynne) I can only say two weak, inexpressive words: Thank you. I don't think you'll ever realize how much I have relied on you, or how your support has carried me through the year's major and minor crises. E.H.S. , I'll miss you: your hurrying halls; your noisy bells; your reams of home- work; your Study Hall at noon; your willing faculty; your football, basketball, and base- ball games; your track meets; your tiny dark Pohob room; your bellerin’ , yet friendly principal; your formal dances; your busy Anita; your club meetings; your trips to State; your debate tourneys; your loves; your hates .... your memories. Wherever I go, whatever I do, I'll never forget. With all my heart, UTL 4

WENDELL VINE ROBERT ZANDER, Supt. Asst. Supt. It has been a happy experience to be indentified with Elko High School and watch it grow during the past years. The success of a school depends on its products and its products consist of students trained to lead happy, profi- cient, useful, and unselfish lives. A citizen is of value to society only as long as he has the ability to better society, because he is a member of it. And lastly, abundant good feeling and high hopes go forth with the graduates that all the fine work of the school may bear the finest fruit and that all students may realize their highest dreams. SCHOOL BOARD: R. J. Toothman; Hugh Collett; Matt Smith; D. V. Harper; R. E. Bums, Jr.; John Blecka; Arthur Glaser. 6
