It has been like the leaves on a tree in the fall--one day they are here and the next they are gone. The seniors are leaving E.H.S. and have many memories they will want to retain. Our POHOBS will be memory books and when we look through their pages twenty years from now we will remember all our friends and good times. Miss Grise, I think you de- serve more than a thank-you. If it hadn't been for your help- ful suggestions, corrections, advice, and assistance the POHOB just wouldn't be. You were al- ways there when we needed you and were very glad to help us through the rough spots. Thanks again, Miss Grise. Jackie Betti, a hundred thanks to you. Your cheery Do you want me to do some more pages? surely sounded wonderful to me. I know next year, Jackie, that you'll do a top-notch job as Business Manager. The best of luck to you. As you glance through the pages of the 1963 POHOB remem- ber that the Editorial, Business, and Photography staffs have worked hard to prepare it for you. I know all of you will enjoy it both now and in the future. Lisa Puccinelli Business Manager 139 Pep Committee BACK ROW: J. Betti, M. Stenovich, N. Temres. SECOND ROW: L. Puccinelli, J. Thorpe, L. To make our last year the best, we elected Mike Simonsen as our president, Don Hanks as vice-president, Sharon Kephart as secretary-treasurer, Kerry Woodward as girl representative, and Dennis Clayson as boy representative. These class officers worked hard all year under the supervision of our wonderful class sponsor, Mr. Laibly. We are proud to say that many of the seniors held important positions in the school. Bruce Van Zee was elected Student Body president; Eric Young, vice-president; Karen Collett was editor of the Pohob; Lisa Puccinelli was business manager; Charlotte Hola- day was editor of the school newspaper. None of us will ever forget the hard work and pleasures and memories we received from our Junior Prom. Our Senior Ball will also be remembered as one of the best ever. Our class was well represented throughout high school in atletics, organizations, music, and in scholastic ability. We will soon be leaving our years in Elko High School behind us; but we can pause and look back, remembering the fun, hard work, satisfaction, and accomplishments. 27 29 President........................Don Unrugh Vice-President................Vernon Vargas Secretary-Treasure.......Jim Jayo Girl Representative. . .Kristin Moren Boy Representative.......Jack Ames JOHN AGUIRRE jACK AMES DONALD BAGLEY JACKIE BETTI GAYLE CAPLE JANE COLUNS CAROLYN BROWN CHARLES CHAPIN BILL COMBES PAT CHELCOTT STEVE COMISH LINDA DEAN DIANE DODD JEFF DWYER RAY DAWSON ROBERT DICKS BARTON DRUEHL WILLARD EDISON FRANCES FEINHANDLER BRENDA FRA TINI RICH GAMM1CK BOB McMARROW PAULA GROVER RON HALL COLONS GRIFFITH JACK GUINN KARLA HANSEL JODY HARRIS TED HARRISON RONALD HOUDE MARILYN HAWK SONDRA HINES JAMES JAYO MARSHA KINCHELOE DON KNAPP BILL HOLTON DAVID JONES OSCAR ROBERSON ALBERT LANI DONALD LIPPARELLI v '■ LORRY LIPPARELLI CAROLYN LONCAR MARY LOPEZ PENNY McCARTY DENISE McLAIN bermie McClendon DARRYL MICHELI ALBERT McINTOSH PATTY McPHETRIDGE GENE MADSEN JEANIE MICHELI KRISTIN MOREN SALLY MORSE MIKE MORTON JOHN MURDOCK DAVID ORBE BARBARA PARADISE FRANK RUGH MARSHA RYAN BRIAN SHOOLROY SANDRA SHILL VALE SINCLAIR THELMA SMITH CUFF SHOOLROY FRANCINE SHOBE BOB SMITH DANIEL SMITH JOHN SWAINSTON MARILEE STENOVICH DENNIS TERRILL PETE TOMERA DON UNRUH GUY VEGA DUANE WALLACE SANDRA WEINRAUCH VERNON VARGAS POLLY VINE JUDY WEIGHALL PEGGY WHEAT JANICE WILDER CANDACE WILEY ERNEST WOODSON CAROL WILLIAMS DARLENE WILLIAMS REG WILUSON MABLE WILLIAMS FRED WORIINE BARBARA WRIGHT 39 Junior Story This year was our first year as upperclassmen. LILUQUIST, DIRECTOR TWO D'S AND A REDHEAD MR. BURNELL LARSON Superintendent Message It is my sincere hope that the year just past has yielded at least a small portion of the sub- stance of learning and understanding to you as students of Elko High School. Certainly it has been a year of growth and progress. You have occupied new classrooms and learned new tech- niques; you have been confronted with new chal- lenges and appropriated new knowledge to meet them; you have advanced yourselves in matur- ity and assumed the responsibilities accompa- nying that maturity. You have, in short, pro- gressed toward claiming your franchise of independence which is a purpose well worthy of all your resolution and dedication. 7 Jessie Blirm, Sandy Davis, and Paula Grover.
