1511111111 must complete the work required in the text and receive a thirty word certificate To receive credit for the second year s work a student is required to finish the text and receive a bronze medal which means that a pupil can write forty words a minute accurately Higher medals are offered for the ambitious student These are the bronze silver Gold and diamond medals To receive credit for the first year of shorthand the worc re quired in the manual reader and Gregg Writer must be completed and the first year s certificate which is based on the system must b obtained Credit is given for the second year in shorthand when the work required in the Gregg Speed Studies classics and secretarial text has b tn completed and an Order of Gregg Artists certificate has been ceeded in making beautiful shorthand notes Membership in the O G A is the most popular of the certifi cates of the Gregg Publishing Company embracing as it does the triple elements art speed in shorthand writing and the fraternal elements in class work The wmninv of the O C A certificate is a recognized testimonial It means the acquiring of such a knowledge of shorthand and such a stvle in the writing of it as marks the differ ence between a mediocre writer and a writer of promise As a result of the work accomplished by the pupils of this depart ment efficient stenographers and bookkeepers graduates of this school are now holding responsible posltlons in various busmess houses of this and other cities Honor should be given Miss Miller head of this department for her deep and smcere interest in the success of our commercial pupils I9 F ' v ..
