arf' A' V'-z .- SOPHGMORE CLASS MARION INGRAIVI Preszdent RICHARD Cox Vzce Preszdent Though this IS only our second year In high chool and we have not had many opportunities to show what we can do as a group we have many students who have already proved what they can do as lI1d1V1ClU3lS One of our number Bill Hess has made us very proud of him by having attained a prominent POSIIIOII on the basketball team This lS Hesss first year as a varsity player but he has certainly used II to the very best advantage Teenie Haggerty who was considered the best cheerleader In Elkins High School according to a recent Issue of the Cub IS another of our class to whom we may point with pride Teenie has needed to lead cheers Vife hope that she will con tinue her fine work and In her serior year become school cheerleader The members of the Student Council from our BETTY SWECKER Secretary Treasurer CHRISTINE HAGGERTY Cheerleader class are Lucy Houchin Gerald Kelly and Wil ham Goldberg Betty Swecker represents the G A A In the Council These students have per formed their duties In a very creditable manner Our president Marion Ingram gives promise of bemg an eloquent speaker This year he entered two different helds In the Literary Contest Al though he won hrst place In neither of them he did remarkably well In both Good grades too are common among us and at least three of our members will always be found In the honor roll They are Bob Irons Alma Wamsley and Glenna Sheets As a whole we Sophomores feel that we have ments In the two years we have been In high school and with the belief that there IS much tal ent to be revealed hope to continue to be ev 'I more successful In the future Page 30 l . . . . . , , .- C . . .
