There's a Tiger stalking outward, From a jungle dark and grim, A jungle grown quite dear, somehow, Though it almost conquered him. There are myriad stony paths ahead, Stretching oler the mountains high, As the Tiger leaves the jungle Where his dear old comrades lie. Four years lived he in the mazes Of the jungle's twisted ways, And now he leaves behind him All haunts of former days. His days of play are over, Years of toil lie far ahead, And he starts his long, long journev With a feeling near to dread.
