Ae The Glee Club has the largest membership this year on record since the Club was founded. We can boast of a well trained group of thirty-two members! Our two main public appearances this far were at Woodhouse School and at the Halloween Carnival. We were impressed by Woodhouse's hospitality and wish to visit there again soon. At the Carnival we sang our gayest and most festive songs and en- joyed the crowning ceremony. The student body and faculty have expressed their appreci- ation of our assembly programs. At the beginning of school Miss Paxton treated us to a weiner roast where there was weiners and fun aglow! Near the end of school, our annual Glee Club recital was given in the newly decorated Music Auditorium with a large audience attending. It is hoped our recital this year will be as successful. Mr. Harlen Petite's concert last year was another outstand- ing success sponsored by the whole Music Department. Since mid-term we have taken up another phase of voice training and applying this training to new selections. Recently a nCensusU of songs worked on this term was taken which showed our having worked on fourteen or more new selections. Plans are underway at this time for a trip to Slocum High, the annual recital, and traditional Commencement music. The Glee Club and Music Department, under the direction of Miss Lurlene Paxton, is a credit to her and to Elkhart School, which has always stressed the importance of Music as a subject.
