, 1,9-W Chaos abounds in the harmonious atmosphere of graduation. The second commencement of Elk Grove High School took place on Thursday, June 12, in the gymnasium at 8:00 P.M. The gym was filled to capacity as the class of 1969 made their final appearance as Grenadiers. The graduates marched in to the triumphal march from Aida. The ceremony began with the invo- cation by the Rev. Mr. David D. Crail, followed by selections by the Elk Grove High School Choir. Dr. Robert E. Lahti, President, Wm. Rainey Harper Jr. Col- lege, gave the address to the class. He was introduced by Tom Neri, president of the class of 1969. Mr. Robert Haskell, principal, introduced the class of 1969. Mrs. Leah D. Cummins gave the response. Mrs. Leah Cummins, Secretary, Board of Education, and Dr. Robert G. Weber, Assistant Superintendent, High School District 214, presented the diplo- mas to the four hundred and twelve mem- bers of the graduating class. National Honor Society members were distin- guished by gold tassels, while the re- mainder of the class wore green and gold. Honored students were valedictorians Silvio Camodeca and Kathleen Spas and salutatorians Barbara Darge and Deborah Spector. The alumni of Elk Grove High School then exited to the recessional, Pomp and Circumstancef' Elk Grove boasted two of each Grenadier graduates enthusiastically applaud Dr. Lahti, President, Harper Jr. College, at the conclusion of his speech. 182 GRADUATION
