This is one of the many cheers led by Elk Grove's 1969-1970 cheer- leaders. Throughout the year, three enthusiastic and vivacious squads attended sports events and took an active part in such things as Homecoming, the Fun Nights, ticket sales, and publicity for school activi- ties. Under the direction of Mrs. Kathleen Forester, the girls established well-organized and successful cheerleading squads. As in years before, the cheer- leaders had the added responsibility of organizing and presenting pep assemblies during which such highlights as ridiculously funny pep skits, spirit- building talks given by both team captains and coaches, and cheers entertained the students. Spirited Orchesis also has given Elk Grove's talented girls the opportunity to express themselves through dance and taught them to incorporate ideas with those of others. Mrs. Walker is the Sponsor, Sandra Dukewich, President: Quincey Lowing, Vice- President: Cheryl Rizzo, Secretary: Kathy Meyer, Treasurer, and Dawn Nitschneider, Historian. The girls must be at least a sophomore: maintain a C average: and, of course, be talented in the art of dance. During the year the girls choreographed, taught, and perfected dances which they used. They also raised money by having various sales, such as taffy apples and carnations for St. Patrick's Day, and putting on their annual show.
