,-iQ .-1---ix QKKN Qs . x One of the oldest and most universally observed traditions of American high school life is that which centers around the publication of school annuals or year- books. The 6'Elk,' of the Elk Grove Union High School is one of very many annuals published by high schools throughout our land. In its pages we find recorded in picture and prose, aspects of all phases of life at Elk Grove High during the school year. 1953-1954. The Elk will be a valued and precious reminder of days. which. at the time. seemed perhaps to move slowly. but in retrospect, we realize. vanished all too rapidly. To the staff of the Elk and to its advisor. Miss Donna Riley, congratulations are in order for perpetuating in top flight manner the yearbook tradition of the Elk Grove Union High School. Appreciation for your work will grow as the years pass. AIXWW,
