CLASS HISTORY Our class history dates back to 1936 the beglnning of our first school year Everything was new and strange to us Starting school was like starting to build a magnthcent structure Reading wr1t1ng and ar thrnet1c formed the loundatlon The follow1ng year We made our First Holy Communion thereby add1ng a brick to our spiritual development Years sped by with stud1es books bazaars programs and GC11V111eS occupying our time Soon We found our educatlonal tructure gradually r1s1ng hlgher and h1gher In sixth grade we were confirmed Th1s was the highllght of the year 1942 and another brick added to our spiritual edifice We recall as seventh graders the visits ot school supervisors our art Work and the enthusiastic interest in the War Bond Drlve In completlng the eighth grade we finished our primary educational structure and entered more comphcated Work high school ready to begin the four full years that lay ahead of us Many Jolned the choir and entered sports basketball and volleyball both strong sources of prtde for Central students and 1ustly so In 1947 the sophomore volleyball team was awarded the year s champion ship at the athlet1c banquet Not to be outdone was our sturdy basketball team Central s trophles stand as shxmng examples to future students of the development of good sportsmanship excellent team work and four play We were proud too to see that classmates 1o1ned Glee Club and Dramatic Club whtch contributed consrderably to our entertainment at school programs and assemblies All students looked forward to mot1on pictures a respite from studies and a brick added to our soc1al structure Mission Crusade and enthronement of the Sacred Heart were special spmtual helps The sahent feature of our Iunior year was the Prom The gym was artistically decorated and well worth the work lt was a colossal success Finally we find ourselves Seniorsl Tune has sped Graduation nears Our educational edifice IS nearing completion a bright reminder of our happy chool days Graduat1on ha1l and farewelll Patricia O Donnell and Richard Clark As Freshmen, we were timid and frightened, but altogether willing and 26
