Here we receive the guidance that helps set us in the right qirection ¼Œ the direction of life, 6 introduction MOUNTAIN DEW The Mountain Dew Festival is an inter- community college gathering of games, competition, and fun, Prestonsburg, Kentucky, is the site of the festival usually held in the second week of April, A sense of belonging exists as students gather forces to try for first place, There is something for everyone from archery to rifle, badminton to tennis, and golf to bowling as well as volleyball, basketball, and pool, Students have the opportunity to excel in their speciality and to enjoy themselves at dances and social meetings, An aire of good feel- ings is established, memories are created, new friends are made, and a good time is had by all, 8 fellowship entertainment 9 — coffeehouses Soft sweet ballads, a warm drink, and a deck of cards blend to produce an evening of fun and friendly talk. A casual night of both local and outside talent served lightly over coffee, tea, and cookies, And it all comes under the title of coffeehouse. 10 e ntertainment 1al night ffeehouse. entertainment 11 12 entertainment With the blessing of a warm autumn sun, the lower courtyard came alive last November, The event was the annual Fall Festival, With dart throws, dunk the dolly , and basketball, football, and bean bag toss among others; the day was a profitable one for the sponsor-. ing campus organizations, 9% 13 entertainment RRA river anthology FAN DRAMA 14 entertainment — — 1 HS + Le 4 - The Elizabethtown Community College Drama Club presented Edgar Lee Master's SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY December 10-11, 1972, in the Science Auditorium, The characters, each speak- ing their own epitaph, discovered and confused the real motivations of their own lives, as if the dark- ness of the grave granted them revelatory eyes for a recognition of their own souls, Thus, the anthol- ogy was essentially the autobiography of a small town, Yet, everyone could see himself exposed in one or more of the characters, making SPOON RIVER relevant to all who witnessed it.
