Susan Davis The purpose of SNEA is to develop among prospective teachers an understanding of the teaching profession through participation in the work of local, state, and national education associations; to give students practical experience in working together on the problems of the profession and the community, and to secure increased public interest and support for education. 50 This past year SNEA sponsored the Regional spelling bee for grades one through eight; attended the state SNEA convention in Louisville; and through ‘’Books For India” sent several hundred books to needy people in India.
