Susie Brown Susie Thornberry The purpose of Kappa Phi Kappa is to serve the community to the best of their ability by upholding the ideas of sisterhood, femininity, and by Christian morality. The sorority maintained these ideals in various ways during the past year. They sponsored a summer fashion exhibit with the proceeds going toward a scholarship fund; they held a slave sale at the beginning of the year in which the sorority pledges were put on the “auction block“, with prices ranging from twelve cents to ten dollars; the sorority held a retreat at Otter Creek for both actives and pledges; and the sorority won the first place trophy for overall achievement in the Little Bitty Kentucky Derby festivities. 32
