Georgetown College M.A. University of Kentucky The English Department offers two semesters of freshman composition, advanced freshman composi¬ tion, journalism, public speaking, technical communi¬ cations. reading and writing labs, several literature courses, composition for technical students, and var¬ ious humanities courses. Non-credit English classes have supplied the students with the basic fundamen¬ tals if they feel a need for a more stable foundation before entering regular composition classes. 12

T E] GLISH No matter what course of study a student may decide to follow, he finds that he cannot escape tak¬ ing several English courses. Although many students bewail this mournful situation, it should be noted that upon completion of such courses as freshman compo¬ sition, most students realize the necessity of taking the course.
