Five years ago he came to Elizabethtown College to serve as academic dean. In July of this year 1961 the dean will become the ninth president of the College. A native of Wichita, Kansas, he has a back- ground which includes service in the min- istry and education. Considering himself primarily a churchman, he accepted the presidency as a call to be dutifully fulfilled. He faces the challenges of the future, desir- ing to build upon the foundations laid by those before him.
