.gn em otiam In the midst of the joy and high hopes of the 1940 Commencement activities, a dark shadow fell in the sudden death of Mr. Iohn W. Wolgemuth, one of the members of the School Board. Notwithstanding the fact that he played an important part in many business relations, Mr. Wolgemuth found time for many civic duties to which he gave a full measure of constructive service. In the many years he had been a school director, he had greatly become interested in the cause of education. Through his devotion to that cause, he won not only the confidence of his official associates, but also the good will and respect of his fellow citizens. The Yearbook Staff considers it a privilege to pay tribute to a man who exemplified so high an order of stewardship and to join with the community who laments his untimely death. They feel that his life will continue an outstanding inspiration to all who knew him.
