Two years ago, Elizabeth Seeger formed its first athletic team. This basketball team won three out of nine games against other small private schools. Last year we joined the Independent School Athletic League and participated in soccer, basketball and softball. This year, in our first chance to go to the playoffs, our soccer team went all the way to the finals before succumbing to New Lincoln, 2-0, in the pouring rain. Our basketball team finished in second place with a 9-2 league record 115 8 overall1. We then won the quarter final round of the playoffs before losing a one pomt heartbreaker to York Prep in the semifinals. We finished on a good note easily defeatmg Browning, 51-33, to take third place in the playoffs. Derrick Hobbs was named Most Valuable Player at this year's All-Star game, marking the second straight year that a Seeger player has won this honor. Approximately one-half of our school has been involved in our sports program In just three years, Elizabeth Seeger Athletics has become a tradition that our students can look back on and forward to with pride.
