WALTER NATHANIEL RIDLEY GREETINGS TO THE CLASS r v 1966: You have the distinction of being the Class to graduate during the College ' s 75th or Diamond . nniversary year. In the years to come, may each member of this Class win other distinctions in whatever becomes his or her vocation. Two guides may be of help in this connection; distinction means getting spe- cial recognition or honor; fame; eminence. It is the quality that makes one seem superior. A Diamond, of course, is a substance of great value, durability, and brillance. The latter two qualities contribute to the enhancement of the first. According to these directions, then, that member of the Class of 1966 who shows qualities to make him or her seem superior, whose durabihty for hard and good work becomes proven, and whose occasional brilliance in execution of tasks marks the calibre of duty performed, is that Class member who will win distinction and who will become another Diamond among the ranks of alumni of this institution. Mrs. Ridley and I wish every one of you courage, faith, health, and favor with God, so that you will be able to accomplish the tasks you undertake with distinction and Diamond-like quality. Upon the centennial of ECSC, may the record show that the Class of 1966 was indeed a Diamond Anniversaiy Class from the excellence of its works. Very sincerely yours. Walter N. Ridley President The Fresitlenl
