M Wott •To strive, to seek, to find, but not to yield r CLASS HISTORY In nineteen hundred forty-four, 112 freshmen Joined the Elizabeth City State Teachers College Family. The war had left us only three men, but we come forth with a deter- mination to help win at home the victory for which our boys were fighting. The return of our heroes during the sophomore year add- ed greatly to 1;he school spirit, and with cooperation and zeal we continued. We can never forget the Junior year with many outstnnd- ing players representing our class on the football team. We were also featured performers in the choir, dramatic presenta- tions, and the forensic activities. Now, w e nre more th n nroud to s»y th»t our Alm« Mpter has become an A rpted college during our senior yepr, and in her struggle for this glory, we, the cl«ss of 1948, hpve had a definite part. 14
