FOREWORD Editor's Foreword ELIOT FIRE STATION You, the itty-bitty green freshman; you, the silly but sophisticated sophomore; you, the jolly, hardworking junior; you, the self-assured, mighty senior - to everyone in Eliot High School - This is Our Year. This is the year of double-sessions, of shar- ing the high school with the junior high. This is the year with anew superintendent and principal, four new teachers who joined the old familiar teachers to welcome us to a new school term. This is the year of greater automation and greater unemployment; but this is also the year of the Test Ban Treaty. This is the year when a moose walked down Main Street, when our football team was better, and when physical education was introduced into the high school. This is the year of many things and they are all ours - This is Our Year. DEDICATED TO We proudly dedicate the Quill 1964 to you, Fred Goul. You are our friend of longest stan di ng in the school system. We remember riding on your bus and feeling secure knowing you were watching out forus when we were in elementary school. By your friendly personal attitude towards all, you have tied our class and school together. By working long hour sin the school build- ing you have made its appearance something which anyone connected with Eliot High School can be proud. You have constantly been aware of the prob- lems and needs of the Eliot school system. You have been a member on boards and committees in the town government wherever you could best serve the schools. Because you mean so much to all of us, the Class of 1964 dedicates it's yearbook to you.
