The Students Eliot High School Eliot, Maine Dear Students: The day school opened, T spoke frankly with you about the problems we would face together throughout the year. At that time I requested your cooperation and assistance in finding solutions which would improve the educational experiences at Eliot High School. It would be difficult to tabulate the number of times throughout the year you have shown me vour willingness to help and to take responsibility. If nurtured, these excellent attitudes toward others and toward education will Insure you a place in this world suited to your needs and desires. You are to be commended for the goals which you have now reached. Challenges are ahead for each of you, and, as you proceed, you will have to find ways to meet these challenges. The degree to which you have applied or are presently applying yourself in acquir- ing an education at Eliot High School will in large part determine your personal success and the contri- butions you will make to others and to your country. THE FACULTY The backbone of any school is the faculty, and we are fortunate in having a fine faculty at Eliot High School. It would be impossible to measure the value of the inspiration they have been to us. The double session has been a trying situation for them as well as for us, and we are grateful for their tireless efforts to main- tain the high standards of our school. Their effective leadership has provided the learn- ing experience that makes this, Our Year, a memorable one.
