Will never hear a syllable From out the lips of any tree. — Mary Carolyn Davies 3 DEDICATION We wish to dedicate this, our 1962 Quill, to Mr. Parsons and Mrs. Mullins in appreciation for the many years of cheery service they have given our school, our class, and the classes before us. In doing this, we are trying to thank them in some small measure for their tireless efforts in keeping our school active and cheerful. 4 We also want to thank them both for their gay, never-failing advice and leadership in the “trying” situations we, as students, meet in our high school life. We wish them all the best that life can offer in the many years to come, and hope that whether they be near or far, they will never forget the students of E.H.S. 5 SOME OF OUR SCHOOL PERSONNEL 6 SCHOOL PERSONNEL DAVID P. Eliot is the only high school in New England that offers a course in Reading Dynamics. These pioneers have sacrificed numerous activities in taking this pilot course, and we may be proud of them. In the future the rewards for their fidelity shall be many. Many thanks should be ex- tended to Mrs. Mullins for her endless work in promoting this course. James Burridge won the school, county, and district American Legion Oratorical Contests, and was a contestant in the State contest. We are proud of Eliot’s results in the contests during the past three years. Seated from left to right: B. Remick, Mrs. Obrey, J. Burridge, and B. Two high points of the season came with an impressing victory over LL Traip Academy, and the team’s invitation to the Lewiston Western Maine Tournaments. Our Indians bowed in the semi-final round after defeating McFalls in the quarter-finals. Preparations were made to present the team with jackets, in honor of the team’s very successful season. During the past three years our E.H.S. girls have built a record of 55 consecutive victories. With 23 wins this year, the skein has increased to 78. This phenomenal record can be attributed to Coach Perham. He has taught these girls how to play this game and play it well. Their fine sportsmanship, the good publicity they’ve received all over New England, all add to the reason why we should take pride in our girls for bringing honor and glory to our school and our community. They’ve worked hard for us and they deserve all the honors they’ve received. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.-S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S. E.H.S.
